The CHIMES IKC, along with the REWIRE IKC, the National Epitaxy Facility and the Compound Semiconductor Manufacturing Hub are seeking to better understand the barriers to increased diversity of the UK semiconductor workforce and the actions needed to overcome them.

The REACT Centre for Responsible Electronics And Circular Technologies, in collaboration with TechWorks, are hosting a workshop on the September 18 Sep 2025 at the Royal Society, 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, London, SW1Y 5AG. We will be presenting an overview of the CHIMES Innovation and Knowledge Centre during the afternoon session covering the UK semiconductor research landscape.

The University of Southampton, together with the University of Sheffield, are set to receive £12.5m of government funding for a new centre to help design the next generation of electrical systems.
The Centre for Heterogeneous Integrated MicroElectronic and Semiconductor Systems (CHIMES 2 ) will address the challenge of interconnecting semiconductors – microtechnology powering everyday electrical items – as they become increasingly smaller with advances in design.
